FACET JOINT INJECTIONS

Facet joints are the small joints along your spine that provide stability along with interbody disc.

A Facet Joint Injection delivers a small amount of local anesthetic and a steroid medication to the facet joints causing pain in either your neck or your back. The mix of drugs can anesthetize your facet joints and block the pain.

B Facet Joint Injections have two purposes: to help your doctor diagnose the cause and location of your pain and to provide immediate pain relief. The elimination of pain can help you tolerate physical therapy while rehabilitating from an injury or back condition.

LUMBAR EPIDURAL STEROID INJECTION

A Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injection is a Pain Management procedure used for treating many forms of low back pain and leg pain caused by conditions such as sciatica. The procedure provides pain relief by reducing the inflammation and swelling of the nerve roots as they exit your spine.

The nerve roots that leave your spine in the lower back area serve your legs. If you injure a lumbar nerve root, you may feel pain, weakness, numbness or tingling in your leg.

A Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injection deposits local anesthetic and steroid medication into the epidural space of your spine, around the thecal sac(protective sac containing your spinal fluid and nerves). The epidural space is located just outside the thecal sac.

LUMBAR TRANSFORAMINAL EPIDURAL STEROID INJECTION

A Lumbar Transformational Epidural Steroid Injection is an outpatient Pain Management procedure designed to treat lumbar (low back) and leg pain. Your doctor injects anti-inflammatory medicine into your epidural space to reduce the swelling. A local anesthetic numbs the nerve roots, easing your pain.

This technique puts the soothing medication near the source of the inflammation. Because your Pain Management doctor performs this injection procedure from the side where the nerve exits your spine.
